Hermitage School Board approves mentors for 2021-2022

In addition to accepting all routine reports, both financial and administrative, the Hermitage school board took action on several items during their October 11, 2021 board meeting. Minutes were approved and the board voted to pay all bills.

Other action included:

  • accepted the proposal for the flooring project for Middle School using ESSER funds
  • heard a report on mask mandate, no change made
  • approved updates to the Ready for Learning Plan
  • approved the required salary increase of 5% report
  • approved the Master Facilities Plan
  • approved the purchase of a Dodge truck through the Steve Landers Cowboy Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram FFA program
  • received an update on board zones and rezoning due to new census
  • approved Minority Teacher and Administrator Recruitment Plan
  • discussed Act 1240 Waiver Teachers and impact
  • approved any and all payments of over $10,000 related to Middle School insurance claims for storm damage i April 2021
  • approved ASBA accidental death and dismemberment insurance
  • board was updated on cost of solid waste collection, cost to go up from $12000 to $24,000 per year

It was noted the District has had no contact with the new provider.

After going into executive session, the board voted to hire Bonnie Halbert as English and Science Instructor and Mistie McGhee as Math instructor for an ACT Boot Camp for $40.00 per hour for 4 weeks.

Dr. Tucker recommended and the board approved the following certified staff members to serve as mentors for the 2021-2022 year:

  • Ginnie Sellers to Shaum Wilson
  • Christy Rowell-Trotter to Tim Whitney
  • Lisa Higgins to Nevada Johnson
  • Melinda Haire to Laynie Rogers
  • Kasey Johnston to Shelby Gardner
  • Rhonda Ferrell to Randi McDougald

The board then adjourned.
