Claude Turner Knowles, 1932-2021

Claude Turner Knowles age 89 of Hermitage, AR died Monday November 29th 2021 at his home. He was born Monday, August 22nd, 1932 in Bradley County, AR a son of Arthur Knowles and Lucy Ricks Knowles. Claude graduated from the Hermitage school system, he served his country in the United States Army, fighting in the Korean War. Claude worked for Western Union, was a lifelong tomato and chicken farmer, he served on the Bradley County farmers Association, the Bradley County Cattleman’s Association, the South East Bradley County Rural Water Association and the Bradley County Rural Fire Department. He was a member of the Hermitage Methodist Church, he enjoyed fishing and for many years he worked with the founder of Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Also preceding him death were sisters Jimmie Vickers, Sara Martin Knowles, Frances Murray and Betty Measles.

Survivors include his wife, Sonya Hargis Knowles, whom he married October 7th, 1977.  Sons John Ferguson and spouse Melody, Hermitage, AR and Greg Knowles, Hot Springs, AR. Daughters Susan Wooten, Italy, TX, Jane Arnold, Mary Knowles, Hot Springs, AR, Gaylon Marcantel and spouse Ray, Hermitage, AR and Cherrie Huitt, Arkadelphia, AR.  A sister Anita Stuard and spouse Don, Deere, AR.  13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral Services 2:00PM Wednesday, December 1st at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial in Adam Singer Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Travis Ferguson, Dylan Ferguson, Scott Roberts, David Gorman, Brandon Gorman, John Kidwell, and an honorary pallbearer, Chris Roberts. www.frazerfuneralhome.com
