Saline River Chronicle

New book published by local writer Timothy Kessler

Timothy Kessler has announced the release of his nonfiction crime thriller, “Death Of The Blue Light Rapist,” through BookBaby.com.

The full-length novel tells the true story of the infamous serial rapist case that terrorized a large portion of Arkansas, starting with an attack reported almost 26 years ago this month, on Nov. 30, 1995, in Lee County. At least a dozen young girls and women reported they were stopped by a vehicle that used a blue light, with many of them taken to remote locations and raped. At least two dozen more stops were reported throughout the state that didn’t result in rapes. Some of the cases switched to home invasions.

Only one person, Robert Todd Burmingham, was ever convicted in the cases. That leaves open the possibility that some of the cases may have involved a copycat or have been committed by another person. Much of the information contained in the book has never been released before, including actual records from Arkansas State Police.

Softcover editions are available through BookBaby.com. Ebooks are available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other national retailers. Autographed copies may be purchased by emailing TMKessler57@gmail.com.

Presentations on the book are planned at Warren Lions Club, noon, Nov. 10, Molly’s Diner in Warren; Buck Fever Festival, Nov. 13, Banks; and Warren Branch Library, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 20.
