UAM School of Business student Grace Lee receives scholarship from AICPA

Monticello, Arkansas – the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Business student Samantha Grace Lee has been awarded the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Covid-19 Student Hardship Grant for $2,000.

“Receiving this award is truly an honor and a blessing. I could not have achieved this award without the constant encouragement and support from my professors, classmates, and family.”, said Lee. She added that she reviewed the qualification and decided to apply for the grant.

Lee, an accounting major, is currently an AICPA student affiliate. As an AICPA student affiliate, Lee receives tools, resources, and support from AICPA to enhance her accounting studies at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Lee plans to complete her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in Spring 2023 and sit for her Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam following graduation. She currently serves as vice-president of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) student chapter at UAM.

AICPA is a nonprofit organization represented globally with 431,000 plus members. The accounting organization provided the education grant to assist students in both undergrad and graduate level status experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID-19. AICPA allotted currently enrolled accounting students to apply for a $2,000 grant offered to 25 students.

AICPA is an organization of Certified Public Accountants in the United States.
