UAM conducts emergency-preparedness drill

UAM recently conducted an emergency-preparedness drill simulating an active-shooter scenario.

Afterwards, a release was sent out to students and staff once again explaining the days events.

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

UPD conducted an emergency-preparedness drill from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on November 24, 2021. The exercise took place at the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center. Officers and library staff were faced with an active-shooter and possible campus evacuation scenario. UPD was able to test the UAM emergency notification system and coordinate emergency response between dispatch and other first responders. If your department is interested in emergency-preparedness training, feel free to contact UPD Lt. Rodney Pickens at pickens@uamont.edu. Information regarding the UAM Emergency Management Plan, Emergency Procedures Quick Reference Guide, and the Avoid, Deny, Defend active shooter video can be found at https://www.uamont.edu/UPD/index.html.
