Bradley County Medical Center Receives USDA Grant

Bradley County Medical Center has been approved for an Emergency Rural Healthcare Grant (ERHC) through the USDA in the amount of $1,016,580 with $355,000 of the funding being provided by the USDA ERHC grant, and the required match $661,580 from sales tax funds.

The purpose of the grant is to support immediate health care needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic by providing medical supplies and equipment to increase med-surge capacity.

BCMC’s department managers complete a needs assessment process each year to determine and prioritize capital budget requests. That information was used to establish equipment to be purchased, and by getting this grant approved, BCMC will have $355,000 to go toward purchases of the equipment needs including:

  • 23 Hospital Beds
  • Nurse Call Station
  • PACS Hardware Server + Software
  • Washer for Surgery
  • Anesthesia Machine

BCMC is thankful for the opportunity to access federal grant funding and is thankful to the citizens of Bradley County for their foresight in helping fund the hospital through the 1% sales tax initiative.
