Man with Warren ties charged in shooting of Kingsland water tower

A local man with connections to Warren, was recently arrested and is facing charges related to the shooting of the Kingsland, Arkansas water tower that has been widely reporting statewide and nationally.

Timothy Sled, 38, of Kingsland, has been charged with two felonies tied to vandalism. According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, Sled shot the Johnny Cash emblem of the Kingsland water tower causing a leak, making it appear as though the silhouette of Cash was relieving itself.

Sled’s charges mean he could be fined up to $20,000 and receive some 16 years in prison for the incident, which is costing Kingsland $200 a day in lost water. Repairs could cost more than $5,000, no insignificant amount for the community of just 514 people.

  1. I saw this story on the Stephen Colbert Show a couple of nights ago, and at first I thought it was a joke, but Colbert pronounced the town name correctly a few times: Kingsland and not Kings-Land. So then I realized that the story was true. Glad that they caught and arrested this guy.

  2. Make him pay for the repairs and water that’s been lost. I’m glad that justice has been served, but 16 years might be a little harsh. Everyone makes mistakes. My question is why did he do that I. A first place.
