Merline Adams, 1921-2022

Merline Adams, age 100 of Crossett, AR passed away April 30, 2022 at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation in Crossett, AR. She was born August 28, 1921 in Warren, AR to the late Cone T. Berry, Sr. and Amie Berry Morgan. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she loved being involved in WMU.

Merline, was part of the “Greatest Generation” and was living proof of why they are known by that title. More importantly she was part of God’s family. Her faith in her Lord brought her through the Great Depression, WWII and breast cancer. She always knew His grace was sufficient for the trials of life. She loved her family, friends and Ebenezer church family and demonstrated that love throughout her life.

She loved life and lived it fully. She was a jokester always looking for ways to “pick” at someone. It was this side of her that caused so many people to love her and enjoy being around her. In her last years in Stonegate Villa these attributes had a lasting impact on the staff that was very evident in their day to day relationship and the grief they suffered in her passing.

It was also during those years that a relationship with a loving daughter blossomed into a mother/daughter love story that will be remembered long after they are both gone.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard “Jack” Adams, her brother, Cone T. Berry, Jr. and her step-father, Roy L. Morgan.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Wilkerson and spouse Campbell of Crossett, AR; two grandchildren, Jason Wilkerson and spouse Kim of Warren; Jenny Shockley and spouse Jonathan of Conroe, TX and one great-grandchild, Anna Wilkerson of Warren.Graveside service was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Ebenezer Church with Bro.
