Gladys Marie Davis, 1946-2022

Gladys Marie Davis was the second oldest child born to the late Wavion Butler, Sr. and Rosetta Butler in Warren, Arkansas on August 7, 1946. She received her formal education in the Warren Public School System. 

Gladys Marie Davis moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the late 1960s where she was united in marriage to Vernell Davis who preceded her in death and to this union three children were born.

Gladys Marie Davis was employed and served for many years in the fields of early childcare education and healthcare before her retirement. She moved back to Warren, Arkansas in early 1986. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family, interior decorating and cooking and she was well known for baking great cakes.

Gladys Marie Davis departed this life on May 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Antoine Davis, Credell Davis and Vertrell Davis, one sister, three brothers, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral service was 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Cox officiating. Burial was in Hall Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dario Franklin, Dominique Wayne, Kenya Davis, Vincent Davis, Travarious Clary and Martagis Stovall.

  4. I’m very sorry to hear of Gladys’ passing. I have very good memories of “Monk” that I will forever cherish. Rest well my friend. My heart goes out to her sons, grandchildren, brothers, and other loved ones.
