George Lee Vaughn, 1946-2022

George Lee Vaughn, 75, of Warren, died July 12, 2022. Born July 16, 1946, he was a son of the late Elder George and Ezell Broomfield Vaughn. After attending public school in Hermitage, he was drafted to serve a tour of war in Vietnam. He served with honor and was proud to be called a ‘veteran’. He worked at Potlatch Corp. as a highly skilled millwright for over 30 years. He was a member of the Arkansas Prince Hall Masons.

Shortly after his return from the war, he married Joyce Jones Vaughn. As a couple, they were affectionately called “Chick” and “Duck” by those that knew them. To this union two children were born, Geno and Tina. This marriage remained unto Joyce’s sudden passing on August 20, 1993. He later met and married Eva Morgan Vaughn.

He loved watching westerns, action movies, listening to the blues, gospel sermons, old school R & B music and spending time with family.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Vaughn; stepmother, Lulla Vaughn; siblings; Earline Franklin, Lorene Thomas, Corene Russell, Earnestine Allen, Cleother Vaughn, Clyde Vaughn, L.G. Vaughn, Bobby Vaughn, Lenon Vaughn, Michael Jones; son Kevin Dickerson.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Vaughn; children, Geno Vaughn (Liwanna) of Little Rock, Terence Davis of Las Vegas, NV., Tina Reynolds (Marvin) of Pine Bluff, Jacqesha Davis, Kimbrel Davis both of Warren, Geletta Ball (Stephen) of Brown Deer, WI., Melissa Jones of Clarksville, TN.; brothers, Bishop Vaughn of Hermitage, Charles Jones of Omaha, NE., Keith Jones of Monticello; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held July 23 at the Hermitage Community Center with Rev. Jonas Williams officiating. Burial was in El Bethel Cemetery in Hermitage. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
