Warren Lions Club celebrated a renaissance Wednesday, July 13, 2022 as it inducted new officers and new club members at its monthly meeting at Molly’s Diner.
Elected as officers for the 2022-23 term which starts in July were President Neely Vance, Vice President Wendy Curry and Secretary-Treasurer James Wells. Gregg Reep is past president.
Tim Kessler serves as Zone 1 chairman, assisting with his home club in Warren and also in clubs at Hampton, Crossett, Monticello and Smackover.
The Warren club was down to about four active members a year ago. With a concerted effort to attract new and former members, the club has grown to 11 members.
Existing members were Reep, Kessler, Wells and eyecare chairman Delbert Zimmerly. Randy Rawls is on inactive status.
New members include Vance, Curry, David King, Keeton Hudson, Terrie White and Leslie Huitt.
District 7N Gov. Bill Johnson of Little Rock Founders Lions Club installed the new officers and new club members.
He discussed the recent Lions International Convention that he attended in Toronto, Canada. He also noted Lions Clubs have made eyecare services one of their key projects. Warren Lions Club does preschool eye screening, collects eyeglasses for recycling and offers eyecare services for those who cannot afford them.
Johnson said Lions International had worked with Helen Keller. Statewide services include World Services For The Blind in Little Rock, Arkansas Eye Bank and Mid-South Sight Services.
Warren Lions Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Molly’s Diner. New members are always welcome.

Gotta show up and be involved. Easier to complain/whine about something than take initiative. One of the issues with Warren, Arkansas. Take a look around town, more people taking than working and putting effort into the community.
