The UAM School of Education is undertaking a new cosmetic project of its entrance where it is housed in Willard Hall. The project undertaking is the front steps and walk entrance to Willard Hall’s School of Education. In the past, Willard hall was used as a girls’ dormitory. Presently, it serves as the UAM School of Education for undergraduate and graduate level students to become teachers and administrators.
Chancellor Peggy Doss, and UAM School of Education personnel want to improve the front entrance to reflect the high levels of quality of undergraduate and graduate education it produces in its teaching o students. This entrance is planned with a fund-raising effort involving UAM, local educators, and the public who see the value of the welcoming spirit of the School of Education staff as it produces the best teachers for all students.
The architects of the project are SCM of Little Rock, AR and will involve landscaping and stained concrete entrance walk-way and steps to Willard Hall. Dr. Sue Martin of Warren, AR serves as chairperson of the project. Dr. Martin has forty years of experience as a retired Warren, first grade teacher, an elementary school principal and a UAM School of Education educator. According to Dr. Martin, contributions are needed for this undertaking. Numerous projects will be done to help produce finances for this new beautiful, esthetic entrance to the UAM School of Education. This entrance walkway will reflect the continued excellence the UAM School of Education provides for its students, staff and the public.
