The latest forecast predicts that showers and thunderstorms will become widespread today as a cold front pushes through the area. The storms could be severe with the possibility of hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. The southeastern half of the state is currently at the greatest risk for severe weather.

In addition to the threat of severe weather, flash flooding will be possible across portions of the state due to already saturated soils and heavy rainfall expected.

Residents of Bradley County and the surrounding areas are urged to remain weather aware today and have multiple ways to receive warnings. It is also important to have a plan in place in case a tornado warning is issued.

If you are in Hermitage and in need of shelter during the storm, the community center is available for your use. Stay safe and stay weather aware.
