Winners Announced for Pink Tomato Festival Bicycle Decorating Contest

WARREN, Ark. – The annual Pink Tomato Festival Bicycle Decorating Contest delighted participants and spectators alike, showcasing creativity and community spirit. Held on June 15, the event celebrated young talents who transformed their bicycles into vibrant displays of originality and craftsmanship.

L J Temple emerged as the winner for the Best Girl category, impressing judges with her imaginative design and skillful use of materials. Rhett Watkins won the Best Boy category, captivating everyone with his inventive decorations. Knox Doster took home the Best Overall award, setting a high bar for creativity and adherence to the tomato theme.

Participants were judged on three main criteria: originality, best use of tomato-themed decorations, and creative use of materials. The panel of judges included Monticello Mayor Jason Akers and his wife Tess, Mr. Tommy Maxwell, and Robert Akin and his wife Cindy, all hailing from Monticello. Their collective expertise and keen eye for detail ensured a fair and exciting competition.

The event received generous sponsorship from Judge Bruce Anderson and LouAnn Anderson, whose support helped make the contest a memorable highlight of the festival. Their commitment to fostering community events and encouraging young talent was evident in the success of this year’s contest.
