65th birthday celebration held for Bro. Everett Wallace

A large crowd gathered Sunday afternoon, May 29 at St James AME Church located on St. James Street in Warren to celebrate the 65th birthday of Bro. Everette Wallace, a long time member and leader in the Church.

Mr. Wallace and his family have deep roots in Warren and have been, and continue to be, pillars of the Warren community and of St. James AME.

Mrs. Stephanie Farmer Martin presided, and the St James Choir presented several uplifting songs. Several friends of Bro. Wallace roasted and toasted him including Dexter Campbell, Mrs. Hazel Wallace-Thomas, Rev. Frederick Favors and Presiding Elder James Hooper, Sr. The Sermonette was preached by Rev. Napoleon Davis. Rev. Davis told the crowd he had never preached a three minute sermon, but as soon as he got through making his comments, he would do a three minute sermon, and he did. It was outstanding.

A meal was provided after the service. All funds raised will be used to make church improvements.
