Robert Louis Anderson, 1947-2022

Robert Louis Anderson, 75, of Warren, died, November 14, 2022. Born January 7, 1947, he was a son of the late Mary Edwards Anderson Thomas and Archie Lee Anderson.

Robert attended Bradley County schools and began his work career at a very young age, helping provide for his family. At the age of 7 years old, he started working at the Correll as a dishwasher. He had to stand on a box because he was too short to reach the sink. He worked there until the doors closed. He later worked at Warren Human Development Center where he retired. He ran his own restaurant, known as “Rob’s Place”, for many years until he decided to continue business from his home. He was very well-known for his famous hamburgers, BBQ sauce and lemon icebox pie. ” Warren’s Famous Cook.”

Robert attended church some at an early age at Union Hill under the leadership of W.L. Strickland. Later in life, he gave his life to Christ and became a member of Power House COGIC serving under the late Elder Matheney. He later joined and became a lifetime member of South Warren, now known as Holy Deliverance, under the leadership of the late Rev. James Thomas. He served there as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Terry Correll until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Phillips Anderson; parents, Mary Edwards Anderson Thomas and Willie Ed Thomas; siblings, Rosie Lee Anderson, Odis Anderson, David-Lee Thomas and
Willie Ray Thomas.

He is survived by two sons, Ted McDaniel (Tiffany) of Milwaukee, WI., Robert Terry Anderson of Warren; stepson, Alvin Campbell of Warren; granddaughter, Laterrika Shunte Anderson ‘TayTay’; siblings, Elizabeth Anderson, James Thomas (Sandra) both of Warren, Henry ‘Mike’ Thomas (Lorena) of Denton, TX.; ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. He also leaves many loving classmates from the Class of 1965.

Funeral service was held November 23 at Holy Deliverance COGIC in Warren with Rev. Kenneth Dawn officiating and Pastor Terry Correll eulogist. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
