Funeral services for Charles Daren Clanton will be Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home with Pastor Shaun Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Church of the Little Flower Cemetery in Evergreen under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Daren, age 55, of Bunkie, a native of Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Baton Rouge General Hospital – Bluebonnet after an extended illness. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter, but was best known for his famous bar-b-que sauce. He is preceded in death by his father, Everette Clanton; his step-father, Allen Ferrell; his sister, Kaylon Taylor; maternal grandparents, Mae-Francis Stone and Coy Dairl Stone; his paternal grandparents, Charles Hollis Clanton and Vada Clanton; his cousin, Sam Clanton and his in-laws, Vernon and Charline Lemoine Ducote.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Tammy Ducote Clanton of Bunkie; his daughter, Alyssa Clanton of Centerpoint; his son, Christopher “Logan” Clanton of Bunkie; his bonus daughter, Lauren Ducote (Chris) of Hessmer; his mother, Gwendolyn “Fern” Ferrell of Arkansas; his step-mother, Mary Mcdougald of Arkansas; step-sister, Gina (Dustin) Hemphill of Arkansas; his stepbrothers, Micheal (Wendy) Belin of Arkansas and Bryan (Pam) Ferrell of Arkansas; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Taylor, Brad Ducote, Jody (Angie) Ducote, Randy (Cindy) Ducote and Timmy (April) Ducote; numerous nieces and nephews and six very special pieces of his heart: Brooklyn Ponthieux, Jaxon Ford, Landon Ford, Pearl Allemond, Emaleigh Ducote and Gracelynn Ducote.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Adam Ducote, Brandon Fontenot, Jackie Thomason, Lain Ducote, Chris Ford and Drake Dufour. Honorary Pallbearers are Nicholas Ducote, Joshua Allemond, Cayson Martin, Bryce Martin, Kevin Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Michael Harmason and Brandon Barronne.
