Congratulations Lumberjacks on another successful football season

The Warren Lumberjack Football Team finished the 2022 season with a record of 11-2. They finished in the quarterfinals of class 4A, coming up just short in overtime.

The team finished the regular season 9-1 with the only loss being by three points to Stuttgart in the opening game of the year. While both teams are in class 4A, the opening game was nonconference. Later in round 2 of the playoffs, the two teams faced off again and Warren won by 28. Quite
an improvement when it counted most.

The Lumberjacks went undefeated in conference 8-4A ( 8-0 ) and won yet another conference title. That makes 16 conference championships in the last 22 years along with four state titles and two runner-up state finishes. Even when not winning the conference title, the Lumberjacks were always in the top two among conference finishers, a truly incredible record of accomplishments. Just for the record, Coach Bo Hembree has an overall record of 238-58-1 ( 80% ) during his tenure as head coach, with a home record of 146-25 ( 85% ), and a playoff record of 55-25 ( 69% ). By any standard, that’s a remarkable record over an extended period of time with varying degrees of skilled athletes. The constant has been a high level of coaching and being blessed with some superior athletes and a large number of dedicated hard-working players.

This was a never give up and never give in team that overcame injuries, bad breaks, and football mistakes, which will always happen. They fought hard and were a championship-caliber team regardless of the final finish.

They had great senior leadership consisting of the following seniors:
Malik Day, Lee Johnson, Don’tavion Bluford, Tayshawn Johnson, Maddox Lasiter, Landon Wolfe, Jose Jacinto, Zy’Kei Trotter, Jalin Lee, Delfino Rivera, Dawson Harton, Marcus Greene, Weston Gavin and Tyrone Grays. Both the offensive and defensive lines were good all year and helped carry the team.

It was a team! They pulled for each other and supported each other. They played with enthusiasm and worked hard every day. Each player contributed in some way.

Warren fans were supportive both at home and on the road. It was a very successful season.

Great job Lumberjacks in 2022!

Sincerely,

A Lumberjack Fan
