Comeback nearly completed as Jacks fall to Ricebirds

STUTTGART, Ark. – Coming so close to completing a remarkable on-the-road comeback Friday night, the Warren Lumberjacks dropped their second 8-4A Conference game of the season, losing to Stuttgart 55-46.

A hard fought opening quarter of action saw the lead switch at least twice. Stuttgart was the beneficiary of a razor-thin 9-8 lead going into the second.

The well went dry in the second period for the Lumberjacks. The orange and black hit just one shot from the field and fell behind 28-13 at the midway point.

A clawback began in the third. Five different Jacks got on the board, including a three from Jordyn Ingram and another from Antonio Jordan.

Warren would tie the ballgame at 46-46 with 3:15 to go in the fourth. Stuggart hit a big three late on the kills the momentum switch from the Jacks. They would pull away by nine in the last seconds, defeating Warren by the final of 55-46.

Warren’s Antonio Jordan recorded his third double-double in a row. The sophomore posted 28 points and 18 rebounds.

Fellow sophomore Neon’dre Thomas was Warren’s second highest goal scorer with six points and five rebounds.

Jordyn Ingram had one of his better games of the year, posting five points and six rebounds.

Other score contributions came from Malik Day with three, Jayden Ridgell with two, and Jalin Lee with two.

Warren now sits at 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the 8-4A. They face another road test Tuesday as they travel to Crossett. That game tips off immediately following the Lady Jacks game which starts at 5:30 p.m.
