Rebecca “Becky” Violet Peebles, 1958-2023

Rebecca “Becky” Violet Peebles, age 64, of Dumas, Arkansas was delivered to the arms of her savior on January 23, 2023. She was born October 26, 1958 in Crossett, Arkansas to C.W. “Sonny” Anthony and Sue Davis Anthony. She is preceded in death by her father, sister Teri Anthony-Ashcroft, nephew Brandon Ashcroft, father-in-law Baker Peebles, and sister-in-law Amanda Peebles-Miles.

A woman who was full of love and warmth, Rebecca “Becky” Peebles was a loving wife and mother, a beloved family member by her extended family, and a passionate elementary educator. She had a heart for children and spent many lunch breaks enjoying and counseling the students who were more like family to her. It brought her great joy when past students would recognize her later in life, give her a hug, and an update on how life was going. She retired after 28 years as an elementary teacher.

Becky believed that genuine love and kindness were the best gifts to give and receive. She also valued sharing a laugh and time spent with those she loved.

She is survived by her husband Larry Peebles and son James Peebles of Dumas; mother Sue Anthony-Reed, brother Ronnie Anthony, and nephews Matthew Ashcroft and Christian Ashcroft of Crossett; niece Erin (William) Denman, great-nephew Landon Denman, and great-niece Violet Denman of North Little Rock; her mother-in-law Edith Peebles, brother-in-law Jeff (Annette) Peebles of Hermitage; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was 2:00 pm, January 26, 2023 at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery.
