A community Easter event will be held at 10 a.m. April 1 in Warren City Park. It was announced at the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce board’s monthly meeting Monday at Bradley County Economic Development Corp.
Special Events Chairwoman Julie Hamilton announced the Chamber will sponsor an Easter egg hunt and other activities for children.

A special events committee will be formed. Also to be discussed is restarting the Market On Main.
In other action:
- Treasurer Jane Harris presented the financial report prepared by accountant Bob Milton, which was approved.
- A fundraising committee will be chaired by new board member Denisa Pennington.
- Bylaws will be updated by Pennington and board member JeNelle Lipton.
- Rhonda Williams has asked for 16 partnerships in a new reading program that will provide free books for Warren students. A tent will be set up at the Easter event in which books will be distributed. The program is funded through a $176,000 SOAR grant over two years.
- Executive Director Terrie White asked for participation in a Hospital Doctors Recognition Program. A fundraiser will be held at 6 p.m. May 5 at Immanuel Baptist Church. The board approved a motion to purchase a table for eight at the fundraiser for $400. Several individual board members said they would reimburse the fee.
- Pennington noted the new Lumberjack Arena, which is currently hosting the 8-4A Regional Basketball Tournament, “is a big asset to our community.” She said it brings in people from outside the community. She suggested the Chamber could help host a hospitality room for visiting coaches.
- Board members present at the meeting included President Ron St. John, Harris, Pennington, Hamilton, Maribeth Frazer, Dana Harvey, Estephany Roman, Mary Louise Moore and James Wells. Ex-officio members Warren Mayor Gregg Reep and Banks Mayor Keeton Hudson also attended.
