Offense picks up in Lady Jacks loss to Mills

WARREN, Ark. – One of the Warren Lady Jacks best performances of the season came up short Thursday evening as they fell to the Mills Lady Comets 59-28 at Lumberjack Arena in Warren.

Senior Michaela Stanley put Warren on the board at the 6:26 mark from the free-throw line. Cherish Dooley would knock down a three late in the quarter as Warren trailed just 7-4 after the first.

Mills created some separation in the second as they put up another 25 points to Warren’s seven to lead 32-11 at halftime.

Tessa Andrus had perhaps the play of the game in the third. She pulled a crossover dribble which sent a Lady Comet to the floor, then drained a three at the 2:45 mark of the period.

Paris Wright would add another bucket in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough. The Lady Jacks fell 59-28 to Mills High.

Aniyah York scored eight on the night and posted seven rebounds.

Andrus had seven points and four rebounds.

Cherish Dooley scored six points, while Paris Wright posted five, and Stanley and Raven Harris had one a piece. Wright also had six rebounds and Stanley five.

The Lady Jacks fall to 1-20 overall and 0-13 in the 8-4A. They have one final game this season. Warren will host Crossett Friday night, February 17 at 5:30 p.m.
