Pauline Anna Stroup Hoyle, 1933-2023

Pauline Anna Stroup Hoyle, age 89, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Courtyard Rehabilitation in El Dorado, AR. Born December 18, 1933 in Waldron, AR, she was a daughter of a Methodist minister, Henry Almus Stroup and Florrie Watkins Stroup. 

She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1950 at the age of 16. She attended Hendrix College for two years. In June, 1952, at the age of 18, she accepted a position at the First Methodist Church of Warren as church secretary and youth director. She later served as secretary and bookkeeper for Sam Dixon, Sam Fullerton, and J.E. Hurley, Jr. At First State Bank she served as teller and secretary. At the time of her retirement in 1996, she was working as bookkeeper for LaDonna Sportswear, Inc. For many years she was secretary for the Warren Aviation Commission. 

She was a member of the Methodist Church all her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Col. David Love Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The Janome Embroidery Club brought her much joy. She was also a member of the Friends of the Library. Pauline was an avid reader and loved sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet and any kind of crafts. 

She married John Martin Hoyle on April 10, 1954. The couple was married for 42 years prior to his death. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1996, and her brother Wayne Allen Stroup of Searcy, who died in 2008, and her parents who died in 1960 and 1974. 

She is survived by four sons: Kevin Wayne Hoyle of Fordyce, AR, David Lee Hoyle and wife Mary of Suwanee, GA, Tony Lynn Hoyle and wife Kim of El Dorado, AR and Terry Neill Hoyle and wife Lisa of Dallas, TX. Six grandchildren: Allison Suzanne Hoyle of Sulphur Rock, AR, Robert Curtis Hoyle of Hermitage, AR; Eric Martin Hoyle of Dallas, TX, Carter Bradley and Laura Leigh Hoyle of Suwanee, GA; Kaitlyn Hoyle Gilbert and spouse Curtis Gilbert of Centerton, AR. One great grandson, Curtis Ryan Gilbert of Centerton, AR. A niece, Dianna Stroup Stanley of Searcy, AR and a sister-in-law, Lequeita Lockridge Stroup of Searcy, AR. Her beloved Chihuahua, Bella. 

Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Rev. Dixon Platt officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Warren, AR by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
