Fordyce Police officer-involved wreck west of Warren happens during police chase Monday evening

WARREN, Ark. – Saline River Chronicle understands that a wreck involving two officers from the Fordyce Police Department occurred during a police pursuit Monday evening, April 24, 2023 west of Warren on Bradley 17.

Information is extremely limited at this time, but from what we have gathered, two law enforcement officers from the Fordyce Police Department, were pursuing another vehicle when the officers crashed on Bradley 17 approximately four miles west of the County Park.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department facebook page, which this evening put out a statement clarifying that the officers were from the Fordyce PD and not the Sheriff’s Department, the officers “sustained serious injuries in the accident” and “were med flighted to Little Rock.”

One individual they were chasing reportedly was able to escape, and law enforcement, including the Arkansas State Police, are currently searching for the suspect. Tracking dogs were also reportedly on the way to assist the search.

Warren Police Department officers as well as the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department were on the scene helping Monday evening.

Saline River Chronicle will update readers again Tuesday when information becomes available.

A previous version of this story included the headline “Dallas County officer-involved wreck west of Warren happens during police chase Monday.” At the time of the original posting, we were unsure if the officers involved were from the Fordyce PD or the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. Therefore our headline stated “Dallas County officer-involved” to encompass either. However, we are now aware that it was in fact Fordyce PD officers. A change has been made in the headline to better reflect with clarity that information. However, when shared on social media the original headline may still appear.

  1. Quite a ways out of their jurisdiction? I can understand Dallas county being this far out but what is fordyce PD doing out of their city limits and even county?

    1. that part!!….high speed chase has been outlawed….and FPD was out of their jurisdiction because BCSD was there to intervene………makes me wonder??

    2. When on a police pursuit they can cross county lines but not state lines and can even pursuit the suspect outside the city limits if the pursuit began inside the city limits

  2. If the chase started inside the Fordyce city these officers have the authority to continue it as long as they see fit.

  3. 🎢🎢🎢 just the good ol’ boys 🎢🎢🎢

    1. It sounds like the suspect absconded on foot. Is this correct? And you did say he has been apprehended β€”β€” right? Prayers up for the wounded officers.
