Arkansas Supreme Court Associate Justice Robin Wynne passes away at 70

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Supreme Court Associate Justice Robin Wynne, aged 70, passed away on Wednesday evening, according to a spokesperson from the Arkansas Supreme Court. Wynne had recently been re-elected for his second eight-year term on the state bench in November of the previous year. Following his untimely death, the state’s legislation stipulates that Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders will appoint a successor to fill the vacant position.

Before serving on the state supreme court, Wynne held several esteemed positions within the judicial system. He spent four years as a judge in District 5 in the Arkansas Court of Appeals, preceded by six years as a judge in the Dallas County District Court. Additionally, Wynne had experience as a city attorney in Fordyce and had served as a member of the Arkansas General Assembly.

Wynne’s roots can be traced back to Fordyce, where he spent his formative years. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Harvard College before returning to his home state to obtain his JD from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Further academic pursuits led him to Southern Methodist University, where he engaged in graduate studies.

No details regarding the cause of Wynne’s passing were provided by the state spokesperson. He is survived by his wife Margo and four sons named Robin, Chris, Grant, and Hayden. Notably, he was the nephew of the late Dr. George French Wynne, a respected medical practitioner who served the community of Warren for many years.
