Chamber hears report on successful Tomato Festival

Bradley County Chamber of Commerce board members discussed the success of the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival during Monday’s board meeting.

“It had one of the biggest crowds and was one of the most successful ones we’ve had,” said Executive Director Terrie White.

There were 81 arts and crafts booths representing several states, including Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Several food trucks were present. A large crowd attended the Gospel Jamboree. Local businesses reported they did well.

In other action:

  • Board members approved purchasing a Lumberjack footprint from Warren High School cheerleaders.
  • A congratulatory ad was approved for Josie Hargis winning an Inspirational Artist of the Year Award.
  • Market on Main was scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 15.
  • A ribbon-cutting ceremony was sponsored by the Chamber for Mater Patch Marketplace owned by Martha Taylor. A large crowd attended the event.
  • Four new Chamber members were recorded.
