James Austin Pennington, age 81 of Hermitage, AR passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 14, 1942 in Sumpter, AR to the late Roscoe Pennington and Charlstie Frazer Pennington. Austin was in the National Guard, retired from Armstrong Hardwood Flooring as a Millwright, a member of Saline Baptist Church. He loved farming and spending time with his precious family.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Ira Columbus Pennington, Jerry Dale Pennington and Wayne Pennington.
Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Harrelson Pennington whom he married on June 6, 1963; children, Tracy Glover and spouse Terry of Sumpter, AR, Mike Pennington and spouse Christi of Johnsville, AR and Mark Pennington and spouse Tiffany of Sumpter, AR; eight grandchildren, Josh Keller and spouse Kayla, Cody Pennington and spouse Taylor, Chris Pennington and spouse Marti, Scott Pennington and spouse Jessica, Cole Pennington, Sawyer Pennington, Lauren Cox and spouse Chase and Alaina Burns and spouse Trevor and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Hickory Springs Cemetery with Bro. Tim Saunders officiating. Burial was in Hickory Springs Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
