Rules for shooting fireworks over the weekend and Independence Day in Warren

As the Fourth of July approaches, we want to remind citizens within the City of Warren of specific guidelines for shooting fireworks within city limits. With safety and community well-being in mind, the regulations aim to ensure an enjoyable and secure celebration for all residents and visitors.

According to Warren’s ordinances on the issue, fireworks enthusiasts are encouraged to adhere to the following rules:

  1. Weekend Restrictions: On July 1st and 2nd (Saturday and Sunday), as well as Monday, July 3rd, fireworks are strictly prohibited in the City of Warren after 10:00 PM. This curfew aims to minimize disturbances and prioritize the comfort of residents during the late hours.
  2. Independence Day Exception: However, on the much-anticipated Independence Day itself, Tuesday, July 4th, a special provision has been made. Fireworks will be allowed to be discharged after 10:00 PM, giving residents the opportunity to revel in the patriotic festivities a little later into the evening.

Residents are urged to exercise caution and follow safety protocols when handling fireworks, ensuring the well-being of both individuals and property. It is essential to note that fireworks should only be ignited in safe areas and should never be used near buildings, dry vegetation, or any other fire-prone materials.

Local law enforcement agencies will be on heightened patrol during the holiday period to ensure compliance with the rules and maintain a peaceful atmosphere throughout the community.

Residents are also encouraged to be considerate of individuals who may be sensitive to loud noises, such as veterans, older adults, and young children, by notifying them in advance or taking extra precautions to minimize disturbances. Consideration is also a good idea for neighbors who may have pets sensitive to loud noises.

As the Fourth of July approaches, the City of Warren looks forward to an enjoyable and safe celebration, filled with the patriotic spirit that defines this cherished holiday. By following the established guidelines and showing consideration for others, residents can make lasting memories while upholding the community’s values.
