T.C. Ashcraft, 1937-2023

T.C. Ashcraft, age 86, of Warren, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 3, 2023.  He was born on February 5, 1937, in Rye, AR; son of the late Garner “Mann” Ashcraft and Alice Wooldridge Ashcraft. 

T.C. is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Marilyn Smith Ashcraft, whom he married on August 16, 1960, and sons, Mike (Julie) Ashcraft and Jerry (Kelly) Ashcraft, both of Warren.  His grandchildren are Courtland (Ross) Hunter, Chase (Channing) Ashcraft, and Blaine (Sarah) Starr all of Warren; Zane Ashcraft of Conway, AR; Justin (Zach) Starr of Enola, AR; Taylor (Kyle) Lassiter of Monticello, AR; Payton (Matt) Ashcraft of Maumelle, AR.   Great-grandchildren are Triton Starr, Shiloh Starr, Willow Starr, Isabella Hunter, Rori Jo Ashcraft, and Ryann Ashcraft.  He is further survived by a brother Johnny (Patsy) Ashcraft, and a nephew Scotty Ashcraft, all of Rye, AR.  

He is preceded in death by a brother, Everett Glen Ashcraft, and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Ashcraft.

T.C. was a 1955 graduate of Woodlawn High School.  He was a retired logging contractor with many years of experience.  T.C. co-owned and operated Ashcraft Logging along with his brother, Johnny Ashcraft.   He served six years in the Arkansas Army National Guard.  T.C. was also a retired Captain of the Warren Fire Department where he was a volunteer fireman for twenty-five years and continued to serve as a longtime member of the Firemen’s Pension & Relief Board.  He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Warren, but later attended Union United Methodist Church at Rye, AR.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  T.C. spent many years fishing at his Pendleton camp on the Arkansas River where he spent most of his spare time.  T.C. also enjoyed visiting with friends whenever he had an opportunity.  He was most happy spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Graveside funeral services were Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Rye, AR.   Service was conducted by Brother Charles Wooley.  Pallbearers were Chase Ashcraft, Zane Ashcraft, Blaine Starr, Justin Starr, Ross Hunter, Kyle Lassiter, Zach Leach, and Matt Cater.  Honorary pallbearers were Scotty Ashcraft, Floyd Dale Ashcraft, O’Dell Wolfe, R. P. Outlaw, Gary Saunders, Kurt Saunders, Roger Shelby, Eddie Parnell, Tommy McLemore, and Steve Thomason.  Memorials may be made to Union Cemetery Association or the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Association.

The Ashcraft family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Dichelle George and staff, the Bradley County Home Health staff, and the Gentiva Hospice doctor, nurses and aides in Camden, AR.
