A quick look at Warren’s semifinal opponent Rivercrest

The Warren Lumberjacks are gearing up to face the formidable Rivercrest Colts in the semifinal game of the 4A State Playoffs this Friday, December 1, 2023.

Rivercrest, boasting an impressive 11-2 overall record, have undoubtedly been a force to be reckoned with throughout the season. Their dominance was on full display in the 3-4A Conference, where they clinched the championship with a commanding 7-0 record, leaving their closest rival, Blytheville, trailing at 5-2.

The Colts kicked off their season in style, orchestrating a resounding 57-26 victory against East Poinsett County. Despite encountering a couple of bumps early on, with losses to Little Rock-Mills (59-34) on September 1 and Valley View (47-25) on September 8, the Colts swiftly rebounded. Since those setbacks, they have been on a relentless tear, averaging an impressive 43.5 points per game over the last 10 matchups.

The Colts’ resurgence is not only marked by offensive dominance, but also by a staunch defense that has proved to be a formidable force, conceding an average of just 11.1 points per game during the same 10-game stretch.

In their most recent outing, the Colts delivered a convincing 36-12 victory on the road against Arkadelphia.
