New garbage containers placed in downtown Warren

WARREN, Ark. – In an effort to enhance the aesthetics of Warren and promote responsible waste management, the City of Warren recently introduced a batch of new garbage containers with a fresh color scheme, distinct from the traditional red ones that have been prevalent in the area.

Rob Johnson, the Sanitation Manager for the City of Warren, emphasized that these new containers are designated solely for household garbage. He clarified that materials such as wood, metal, appliances, paint, brick, tile, or concrete should not be disposed of in these containers.

It’s crucial for the public to adhere to the guidelines set for these garbage containers. They are specifically intended for household waste and should not be misused for dumping larger items or prohibited materials.

Previous challenges faced by the city included the improper disposal of large appliances near or within the containers. Items like couches and other bulky materials, which cannot be bagged and placed inside the containers, are strictly prohibited.

While the purpose of these dumpsters is to contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of Warren, their effectiveness relies heavily on responsible use by the public. Improper use not only turns them into eyesores but can also lead to unpleasant odors.

The City of Warren is urging residents to be mindful of the new guidelines and to play an active role in preserving the cleanliness of the community. Proper use of the garbage containers not only contributes to a more visually appealing environment but also ensures the efficient functioning of the waste management system in the city.

Residents are encouraged to report any instances of misuse or improper disposal to the City of Warren Sanitation Department. By working together, the community can continue to enjoy a clean and attractive living environment for years to come.
