In honor of the late Sam Clanton, a beloved farmer, avid hunter, and community helper, the Sam Clanton Memorial Fund is organizing a thrilling hog hunt scheduled to take place from February 22 to 24, 2024. The event aims to not only celebrate Sam’s passion for hunting but also to raise funds for a noble cause.
Event Details:
- Date and Time: Starting on Thursday, February 22, at 9 PM, and concluding on Saturday, February 24, at 5 PM.
- Location: Clanton Farms Shed, 520 E 4th St, Hermitage, AR 71647.
- Teams: Form teams of 4.
- Entry Fee: $300 per team, with an additional $50 per side pot.
- Registration Deadline: Entries must be submitted by February 16, 2024, at 5 PM.
Competition Categories:
- Main Pot (Buckles): Heaviest 3 Hog Stringer, Barr Hogs Allowed.
- Side Pots (Trophies): Biggest Teeth, Biggest Hog.
Weigh-In Rules:
- Only dogs and knives allowed.
- Hogs must be field dressed at the weigh-in.
- A meal will be provided during the weigh-in event.

About the Sam Clanton Memorial Fund: Sam Clanton, a remarkable farmer and enthusiastic hunter, left an indelible mark on the Hermitage community. Tragically passing away on July 18, 2020, at the age of 44, his legacy lives on through the Sam Clanton Memorial Fund. The fund, established in his memory, supports various charitable initiatives, including an annual scholarship for a Hermitage high school senior and financial sponsorship for individuals in need of substance abuse rehab at Ouachita Medical Center in Camden, AR.
The Sam Clanton Memorial Fund Hog Hunt not only pays tribute to Sam’s love for hunting but also serves as a means to contribute to a cause that aligns with his spirit of community service. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the fund, ensuring that Sam’s legacy continues to positively impact the lives of those in need.
