Jack Women drop first game of Dumas Classic

DUMAS, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjack Women’s Basketball team faced a challenging night on Thursday as they went up against the Dumas Bobcats in the Dumas Classic, an early season set-game style tourney. Unfortunately, the Jacks struggled to find their footing, ultimately falling to Dumas with a final score of 51-15.

The first quarter proved to be a tough start for Warren, as they faced difficulty generating much offensive momentum. Despite Natasha Nunez injecting some much-needed energy, the Lumberjacks ended the quarter with a sizable deficit, trailing 28-0.

As the second quarter unfolded, Warren managed to break the silence on the scoreboard. With just over three minutes remaining before halftime, Charlee Wardlaw sank a jumper, putting the Jacks on the board. Cherish Dooley followed suit with a quick basket on the next possession, capitalizing on a breakaway opportunity.

While the Lumberjack Woen showed signs of improvement in the second half, the deficit proved insurmountable. Despite their efforts, Warren ultimately succumbed to Dumas with a final score of 51-15.
