Razorback trio garners Coaches’ All-SEC recognition

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – First-team All-SEC honorees Landon Jackson and Cam Little were joined by second-team member Max Fletcher on the 2023 Coaches’ All-SEC team.  

Junior Landon Jackson proved to be one of the nation’s most dominant pass rushers this season en route to claiming first-team praise on defense, tallying 44 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and one PBU. Jackson, who began his career at LSU, set career-highs in tackles (11), tackles for loss (3.5) and sacks (3.5) at Alabama (Oct. 14), recording his first career double-digit tackling performance in the breakout performance and claiming SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. The Texarkana, Texas, product anchored an Arkansas defense that ranked sixth in the SEC in tackles for loss and sacks, leading the Hogs in tackles for loss (13.5-78) and sacks (6.5-54). Jackson is the first Razorback defensive lineman since Jake Bequette (2011) to acquire first-team selection.  

Earning first-team praise as a kickoff specialist, junior Cam Little has been one of the top kickoff specialists in the nation this year after kicking off 62 times for 3,981 total yards. The Moore, Okla., native, who is tied for fifth nationally in kickoff average (64.2), recorded 53 touchbacks during the 2023 campaign. Little paces the SEC and ranks fourth nationally in touchback percentage (85.5). Also serving as Arkansas’ primary place-kicker, Little connected on 20-of-24 (83.3%) field goal attempts and all 33 of his point after attempts during the 2023 season. It marks the second consecutive year an Arkansas kickoff specialist has claimed first-team honors after Jake Bates collected the accolade in 2022.   

Sophomore Max Fletcher, who collected second-team accolades, booted 59 punts for an SEC-leading 2,770 yards. Fletcher is the first Razorback punter since Dylan Breeding (2012) to receive All-SEC recognition. Fletcher ranks fourth in the league in yards per punt (47). Fletcher’s 19 punts downed inside the 20-yard line rank fourth in the conference. The Melbourne, Australia, product boomed 23 punts for 50+ yards in 2023, including four punts for 60+ yards. Fletcher booted a career-long 71-yard punt vs. Auburn on Nov. 11.  

The SEC postseason individual awards will be announced on Wednesday while the SEC All-Freshman Team is slated to be released on Thursday.
