Lady Jacks give Star City a battle in Friday game

WARREN, Ark. – In a challenging game on Friday night, the Warren Lady Jacks clashed with the talented Star City Lady Dogs, resulting in a final score of 55-31 in favor of Star City.

1st Quarter: Star City Takes an Early Lead

The game started with Star City swiftly opening the scoring with a three-pointer. Despite Bailey Miller’s response with a significant basket inside the paint, Star City’s press caused early problems for Warren. At the end of the first quarter, Star City dominated with a commanding lead of 16-2.

2nd Quarter: Struggles Continue for Warren

The Warren offense faced challenges in the early minutes of the second quarter. Aniyah York managed to score with a good look underneath, and Charlee Wardlaw contributed with a breakaway score. However, Star City maintained control, leading 29-9 at halftime.

3rd Quarter: Warren Mounts a Comeback

The Lady Jacks displayed an impressive performance in the third quarter. Coming out of halftime with a strong defensive effort, Warren’s Breize Fellows led the offensive charge with six points. The Jacks managed to cut the deficit to 29-20 by the end of the quarter, holding Star City scoreless.

4th Quarter: Star City Pulls Away

Bailey Miller’s free throws at the start of the fourth quarter narrowed the gap to 29-22, but Star City responded emphatically. Star City knocked down several threes and applied a full-court press, causing issues for the Lady Jacks in the final minutes. Warren ultimately fell with a final score of 55-31.

Warren’s Record and Next Game

With this defeat, Warren’s overall record falls to 2-8, and they are now 1-3 in the 8-4A Conference. Looking ahead, the Lady Jacks will host Hamburg on January 16, 2024, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
