Lady Jacks suffer defeat at Watson Chapel

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – In a challenging matchup on Wednesday, January 31, the Warren Lady Jacks fell to the Watson Chapel Wildcats on the road by the final of 49-18.

Unfortunately, the Lady Jacks were without one of their leading scorers, Charlee Wardlaw, who was sidelined due to injury.

1st Quarter

Warren struggled to find their offensive rhythm in the early minutes of the game. Bailey Miller managed to score the Jacks’ first basket at the 4:20 mark, followed by a jumper on the next possession. Despite the efforts of Livi McKinney on the boards, Warren faced a formidable Watson Chapel defense, trailing 20-4 by the end of the first quarter.

2nd Quarter

Aniyah York provided a glimmer of hope for the Lady Jacks, knocking down a pull-up jumper at the 6:20 mark. Breize Fellows added a free throw midway through the period. However, Watson Chapel’s quality shone through, as they extended their lead to a commanding 39-9 at halftime.

3rd Quarter: Miller Steps Up

Bailey Miller contributed six points. Despite her efforts, Warren continued to struggle against Watson Chapel’s strong performance.

4th Quarter: Late Effort Falls Short

In the final quarter, Miller managed to hit a three-pointer with four minutes to go. However, Warren ultimately fell to Watson Chapel with a final score of 49-18.

With the loss, the Lady Jacks’ overall record now stands at 3-12, with a conference record of 2-7 in the 8-4A Conference. They will have a day off before hosting Crossett Friday, February 2 with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
