Warren and Rural Fire Departments respond to two minor fires at local chip mill Thursday

WARREN, Ark. – In a prompt and efficient response, the Bradley County Rural Fire Department and Warren Fire Department successfully tackled two minor fires at the chip mill located on the east side of the Hwy 189 Bypass east of Warren.

The first incident unfolded around 6 am on Thursday morning when a conveyor belt at the chip mill caught fire. Quick action by the mill’s staff and the fire crews ensured that the fire was swiftly extinguished, preventing any major incident.

However, just before noon, a second call brought the crews back to the same location as a fire broke out in the chip storage area. By 12:12 pm, the Rural Fire Department had the situation under control.

There was no major damage reported from either of the incidents.
