Banks Volunteer Fire Department leads response to woods fire Tuesday night

WARREN, Ark. – On Tuesday night, the Banks Volunteer Fire Department sprang into action in response to a woods fire on CR 14N. Toned out at 9 p.m., firefighters, aided by the Arkansas Forestry Commission and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department, swiftly worked to contain the blaze.

The fire, fortunately, was limited to several acres, and thanks to the coordinated efforts of emergency responders, no structural damage occurred. However, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the heightened fire risk in the region.

In light of the recent woods fire and the prevailing dry conditions, Bradley County has enacted a burn ban. This measure aims to mitigate the risk of further fires spreading and causing harm to property and lives.

“We urge residents to refrain from burning until we receive significant rainfall,” stated officials from the Banks Volunteer Fire Department. With the dry weather persisting, even controlled burns can quickly escalate into dangerous situations.

Authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary. In the meantime, cooperation from the public in adhering to the burn ban is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in Bradley County.
