Bradley County Chamber of Commerce holds inaugural meeting of 2024, appoints new committee chairs

WARREN, Ark. – The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce convened on Monday, February 12, 2024, for its inaugural monthly meeting of the year.

Newly inaugurated Board Chair, Dana Harvey, presided over the session and extended a warm welcome to EASI representative, Nyeshia Aldridge, who attended the gathering for the first time. The minutes of the preceding annual meeting held in January were unanimously approved by the attending members, along with the financial report, which Treasurer Jane Harris presented.

Chair Harvey made an announcement regarding the transition within the Special Events Committee, noting Julie Hamilton’s resignation from her role as Chair and the appointment of Nancy Arnold as her successor. James Wells was also appointed as the new Chair of the Fundraising Committee. In his report, James Wells highlighted the completion of paperwork for an Arkansas Heritage grant, further mentioning that Executive Director Terrie White would undergo designated training to ensure compliance with the grant’s stipulations. Dana reiterated to the assembly that the committee chairs function as coordinators and are not solely accountable for the execution of tasks related to community activities such as the Christmas parade and Easter Egg Hunt.

The forthcoming Chamber meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2024, at noon in the BCEDC conference room. Members and representatives from businesses within the Chamber’s membership are strongly encouraged to attend, as well as individuals interested in joining the Chamber or seeking insights into its initiatives.
