Lady Jacks wrap up 23/24 season against LR-Mills

WARREN, Ark. – In the final showdown of the season, the Warren Lady Jacks faced off against the Mills Lady Comets at Lumberjack Arena in Warren. Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Jacks succumbed to a 68-41 defeat on Thursday night.

1st Quarter

The game began with an intense display of defensive skill from Warren’s Bayleigh Miller, who swiftly converted a steal into a layup at the opposing end. Aaliyah Walton replicated Miller’s defensive play with another steal just a minute later, leading to a transition bucket for Aniyah York. Despite their efforts, the Lady Jacks found themselves trailing 11-6 after the first quarter.

2nd Quarter

Livi McKinney of Warren got in on the action with a bank shot early in the second quarter. However, Mills found their rhythm from beyond the arc, increasing their lead. Breize Fellows managed to trim the deficit with a well-timed jumper, but the Lady Jacks still trailed 30-18 at halftime.

3rd Quarter

Warren’s Bayleigh Miller opened the second half with a basket, but Mills maintained their advantage. McKinney fought fiercely on the boards and managed to convert her efforts into valuable points. However, the Lady Jacks faced an uphill battle, trailing 46-29 going into the final quarter.

4th Quarter

In the last stretch of the game, McKinney, Aaliyah Walton, and Miller contributed points for Warren, with Miller impressively sinking a fadeaway shot. Despite their late surge, the Lady Jacks couldn’t overcome the deficit, ultimately falling 68-41 to Mills.

With the conclusion of the game, the Lady Jacks finalize their 2023/24 season with a 4-16 overall record and a 3-11 record in the 8-4A Conference.
