In the top of the first inning, Star City (4-4, 1-1) loaded the bases and was able to score three runs. The Lady Jacks (5-2, 2-2) went three up and three down in the bottom of the inning. A one-out error and a passed ball allowed Star City to pick up a run in the top of the second to go in front 4-0. In the bottom half, Charlee Wardlaw led off with a base on balls for the Lady Jacks. Natalie Hargrave delivered an RBI double to get the Lady Jacks on the scoreboard, but Warren trailed 4-1 after two innings.

Although Star City loaded the bases, the Lady Jacks got out of the jam with no damage done in the third. To begin the bottom half Blythe Callaway reached on a walk. Haven Johnson followed with a double, but Callaway was thrown out going to 3rd. Warren left Johnson stranded and still trailed 4-1. A double play by the Lady Jack’s prevented the Lady Dogs from scoring in the top of the fourth, but Warren was unable to score in the bottom of the inning. Star City went down 1-2-3 in the top of the fifth inning. Unfortunately, Warren also went down in order to keep the score at 4-1.

Once again, Star City went away 1-2-3 in the top of the sixth, but the Lady Jacks were unable to get their offense going either. In the top of the seventh, the Lady Dogs added an insurance run to make it 5-1. Paige Byrd and Hargrave each singled for Warren in the final frame. Livi McKinney then delivered a two-out RBI single to make the score 5-2, but the Lady Jacks would not get any closer as Star City clinched the win.

Hargrave had a double and a single. Johnson, Byrd, and McKinney each had a hit. Wardlaw accounted for Warren’s 2 runs. The Lady Jacks do not play again until Monday, March 25 due to Spring Break when they return to action with a non-conference matchup at McGehee.
