Lumberjacks battle, but fall in non-conference clash against 6A Conway

WARREN, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjacks soccer team welcomed Conway of the 6A Central to Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium Tuesday evening and gave the Wampus Cats a solid effort before dropping a 4-0 decision.

The Jacks fall to 1-3 on the season, while Conway, members of the highest classification in Arkansas, improved to 5-1. The Lumberjacks battled the Wampus Cats and played admirable on the defensive end, but couldn’t break through on offense.

Although the scoreline may not reflect the relentless effort and commitment demonstrated by the Orange and Black, it serves as a valuable learning experience for the players and coaching staff alike. Every match presents an opportunity for growth and improvement, and this setback will undoubtedly fuel the team’s determination to bounce back stronger in future fixtures as the team looks forward to 4A East conference play.

The Jacks are set to open league play Thursday, March 14 at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium against Crossett. The boys match will begin after the varsity girls match.
