The Lumberjacks (6-4) started the day with a solid effort against Gentry (6-8) with Ervin Rivera picking up the win on the mound. He allowed no runs on just two hits with five strikeouts in five innings. Warren started the scoring early with two runs in the second inning on a passed ball and an RBI by Nathan Spears when he was hit with the bases loaded.

Two more runs in the third inning on an RBI triple by AJ Jordan and ensuing RBI base hit by Ren Reep extended the Warren lead to 4-0. The Orange and Black didn’t let its foot off the pedal with Rivera doubling home Bryson Harris for the first run of the fourth frame. Reep drove home another run with an RBI base knock and Jordan scored on an error to push the score to 7-0. Kolby Pope swatted a two-run triple to right field later in the inning to cap the scoring and make it 9-0.

The Jacks would walk off the Pioneers with a run in the bottom of the fifth to claim a run-rule victory by a count of 10-0. Gentry put two runners on third base in the top of the first, but only had one runner reach third base over the final four innings. Pope, Rivera, and Reep all registered two hits apiece, while Rivera led the team with three runs scored and Cathey scored twice. Pope and Reep picked up two RBIs each.

The next game of the doubleheader would come against Searcy (2-6), who Warren defeated earlier in the season 9-4. However, the Lions would get their revenge with a 14-3 victory over the Jacks. Searcy scored a run in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 edge, but Warren fought back with three in the top of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Spears hit an RBI double to get the team on the board before a hit by Harris plated two.

Searcy wasted little time regaining control of the game with seven runs in the third and another six in the fourth to earn the win. Reep went three innings on the mound and allowed eight runs with only five earned. Spears and Tristan Weaver finished the game on the bump for Warren. Pope, Jackson Denton, Reep, Cathey, and McDiarmid all had a hit each in addition to the run-scoring hits by Spears and Harris.

With Spring Break in the rearview mirror, the Lumberjacks return to conference action next week with Hamburg scheduled to come to Warren on Tuesday, March 26. First pitch from the Warren Sports Complex is set for 5 p.m.
