Four Lady Jacks combine for five goals in clean sheet win over LR Mills

In a third 4A East Conference match on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the Warren Lady Jacks put together a statement performance on the soccer field as they outclassed the visiting Little Rock Mills Lady Comets with a resounding 5-0 victory. The match, held in Warren, Arkansas, witnessed a spectacular performance from the Lady Jacks, who showcased their attacking flair and defensive solidity throughout the game.

The Lady Jacks entered the contest with a 1-1 record in the 4A East Conference and a 2-4 overall record, determined to secure a second Conference victory on the trot.

The first half saw Warren’s offensive power on full display, with early shots on target by Azul Garcia and Jennifer Carpenter keeping the Mills defense on their toes. Garcia came close to breaking the deadlock in the fourth minute, rattling the post with a powerful strike. Warren’s persistence paid off in the 6th minute when Gaby Corcules converted a corner kick at the near post to give Warren a 1-0 lead. Carpenter continued to threaten the Mills defense, narrowly missing out on a couple of scoring opportunities.

Allison Mondragon’s impact was felt around the 30-minute mark, causing problems for the Mills defense with her pace and skill on the left wing. But she would net her goal on the night via a corner, as she capitalized on a loose ball in the box in the 37th minute, blasting it into the roof of the net to extend Warren’s lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.

The momentum remained with Warren in the second half as Garcia netted her first goal of the match with a clinical finish from 18 yards out in the 44th minute. Anna Arroyo extended Warren’s lead to 5-0 with goals in the 60th and 67th minutes, showcasing her skill and composure in front of goal.

The Lady Jacks’ defense stood firm, denying any significant chances for the Lady Comets to mount a comeback.

Warren’s dominance was evident as they secured a convincing 5-0 victory, highlighting their potential as a force to be reckoned with in the 4A East Conference. With this impressive performance, the Lady Jacks send a clear message to their rivals and continue their quest for success in the conference standings.

The Lady Jacks now hold a 4A East record of 2-1 and are 3-4 overall. They will next host Lonoke Friday, April 5.
