Lady Jacks put up 5 goals in 5-star performance vs. Star City in non-conference play

WARREN, Ark. – In a commanding display, the Warren Lady Jacks triumphed over Star City in a non-conference match on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Despite not counting towards conference standings, the game showcased the Lady Jacks’ formidable offensive attack and stout defense.

The first half saw Warren asserting early dominance with substantial possession and relentless pressure. Their efforts paid off in the 14th minute when Azul Garcia unleashed a bouncing shot from 25 yards, catching Star City’s keeper off guard and propelling Warren into a 1-0 lead. The momentum continued as a stroke of misfortune for Star City resulted in an own goal off a deflected shot, doubling Warren’s lead in the 32nd minute.

After a strong first-half performance, the Lady Jacks maintained their intensity in the second half. Allison Mondragon widened the gap with a precise strike from 28 yards in the 47th minute, extending Warren’s lead to 3-0. Jennifer Carpenter further solidified the lead with a goal from a corner kick in the 57th minute, putting Warren comfortably ahead at 4-0. Anna Arroyo’s goal from close range in the 68th minute sealed the victory for Warren, ending the match with a resounding 5-0 scoreline.

With this impressive win, the Warren Lady Jacks improved their overall record to 5-5. Looking ahead, they are set to host Crossett at home on Wednesday, aiming to carry forward the momentum from this stellar performance.
