Reaves Cemetery cleanup event set for May 11

NEW EDINBURG, Ark. – The Reaves Cemetery Association of New Edinburg has announced a community cleanup event scheduled for May 11th. The event aims to enhance the cemetery’s appearance and maintain its beauty for visitors and loved ones.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, at 9:00 am, volunteers will gather at the cemetery to embark on various tasks. These include removing old flowers, performing weedeating, trimming trees and bushes, raking leaves, and, if the ground permits, moving dirt by hand.

One of the focal points of the cleanup effort will be the north end of the cemetery property, which has accumulated a significant amount of brush over time. Volunteers are encouraged to bring saws and clippers to help clear this area effectively.

Additionally, there is a sizable stump on the premises that requires removal. Volunteers skilled in this task are invited to lend their expertise.

The Reaves Cemetery Association expresses gratitude to all participants and looks forward to a successful cleanup day. The event not only enhances the cemetery’s aesthetic appeal but also honors the memories of those laid to rest there.

Participants are reminded to dress appropriately for outdoor work and to bring any tools or equipment they can contribute to the cleanup efforts.
