Section of Pine Street to remain closed as repair work to the Town Branch continues

WARREN, Ark. – A segment of Pine Street, spanning from Myrtle to Chestnut, has been temporarily closed to facilitate further repairs to the Town Branch, which runs beneath this stretch of road.

As initially reported by Saline River Chronicle late last week, this closure was prompted by an issue with a water line, a consequence of recent flooding and fallen trees near the branch.

Monty Hearnesberger, Warren’s Street Foreman, highlighted the necessity for additional closures as repair work commenced on Monday.

The flooding in the vicinity also caused damage to a nearby homeowner’s property.

Crews deployed some heavy equipment to aid in the repair efforts.

This section of Pine Street will remain closed until further notice.

Mayor Gregg Reep assured Saline River Chronicle that the City is actively addressing the situation. “We are currently focused on clearing out that segment of the Town Branch to enhance water flow during periods of heavy flooding,” he stated. The Mayor indicated that the closed section may need to remain so for several days.

Updates on the situation will be provided as they become available.
