The Lumberjacks improved to 12-4 overall, but more importantly 6-2 in the 4A-8 Conference standings to sit atop first place in the league. Crossett falls to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in conference games.

The Eagles pushed across the first run of the contest with an unearned run in the second, but the Jacks earned two runs in the second and plated four more in the third to take control of the game. Bryson Harris belted an opposite-field homer to right-center field to tie the game 1-1 and Warren took a 2-1 edge when AJ Jordan scored on a Jude Cathey single. The Orange and Black scored two runs in the third inning on back-to-back doubles by Nathan Spears and Ervin Rivera before tallying two more on an error and bases-loaded walk to move in front 6-1.

The visitors got one back in the fourth, but the Jacks responded immediately with another RBI double off the bat of Spears. Crossett scored a lone run in the fifth to make the score 7-3, but Warren tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run double by Ren Reep and a sacrifice fly by Tucker McDiarmid. The Eagles put a couple of runners on in the final frame, but Rivera struck out the final hitter to clinch a 10-3 triumph for Warren.

Kolby Pope was solid on the mound and picked up the win. The junior tossed 4 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Rivera ended the game on the bump and allowed no runs on two hits with three punchouts and one walk.

Spears and Rivera led the team at the plate with two hits while Spears, Reep, and McDiarmid drove in two runs apiece. Harris, Rivera, and Cathey all drove in one each with Jackson Denton, Spears, Rivera, and Harris all scoring twice. Both teams registered seven hits apiece, but all of Crossett’s were singles while Warren recorded five extra-base hits of its seven.

The Lumberjacks are scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 15 in a non-conference matchup versus Maumelle Charter at home. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
