Warren Mayor Gregg Reep proclaims April as Fair Housing Month

WARREN, Ark. – In a ceremony to reaffirm the city’s commitment to fair and equal housing opportunities, Warren Mayor Gregg Reep issued a proclamation designating April as Fair Housing Month in Warren. The proclamation ceremony, held Friday morning, highlighted the importance of ensuring non-discriminatory practices in housing.

“It is illegal to discriminate against any person because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin,” stated Mayor Reep’s proclamation.

Members of Warren’s Fair Housing Commission, including James Hooper, Nora Pacheco, Jane Harris, and Beverly Marshall (not pictured), were in attendance to support the initiative. The commission plays a vital role in promoting fair housing practices and addressing any concerns related to housing discrimination.

Individuals who believe they have faced discrimination in housing are encouraged to come forward and file a complaint. Mayor Reep emphasized that the city takes such complaints seriously and is committed to upholding fair housing standards for all residents.

The proclamation ceremony not only marks the beginning of Fair Housing Month but also underscores Warren’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusive communities where everyone has access to safe and fair housing opportunities.
