Linda Ann Warren Barrett, 1944-2021

Linda Ann Warren Barrett, age 77, of Warren, AR passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home after a brief illness. Born on September 21, 1944, in Warren, AR, to the late Levi Amos Warren and Vergie Marie Bethea Warren, Linda had a lifelong love for music fostered by her first job playing the organ at church at the age of just 13. Over the years, Linda continued her musical pursuits, serving as the organist at the First Christian Church of El Dorado for many years, then moving to the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Along the way, she played for hundreds of weddings and funerals, working in this capacity for Frazer’s Funeral Home and sharing her musical gifts with the Warren Key Club, among other organizations.

While Linda enjoyed the limelight herself, she also loved sharing her gift with others in a variety of ways. Her passion for education led to her attaining a bachelor’s degree then a master’s degree in music, and with those degrees, she taught others. She taught elementary music for years in the El Dorado school system until retiring and provided piano lessons to numerous students privately, helping to foster that same love of music she had in others. Linda’s other passion in life was cats, and just like with music, she shared this love with the world via social media. An active member of many cat-related and joke groups, Linda never failed to make her friends and family laugh and smile with her delightful sense of humor.

Other than her parents, Linda is preceded in death by infant twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Warren, and her sister, Mary Louise Warren Hays. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Barrett, her children, daughter Tamra Anne (Tammy) Hargett of Gallatin, TN, and son Dennis Alan Littlefield (Bennetta) of Fort Worth, TX, her grandchildren, grandson Benjamin Zachary Hargett (Elizabeth) of Knoxville, TN, and granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Hargett Wilson (Taylor) of Spring Lake, NC, five great-grandchildren, Anna, John William, Josephine, Delphine, and Abram, her brother, Wayne W. Warren (Julia), and her cat, Don Gato.

Funeral services were held at Frazer Funeral Home on 2 p.m. Sunday, October 17th with burial at Hickory Springs Cemetery, seven miles south of Warren, AR, on Highway 63. www.frazerfuneralhome.com
